Cold Forces Cancellation Of Fredericksburg New Year's Eve Event

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Because of expected temperatures in the teens and gusting winds, Downtown 31's New Year's Eve Family Fun Night at Riverfront Park has been cancelled, the city announced Friday in a statement:

"(The forecast) has already affected many of the planned activities for Sunday’s event, many of which will not be able to perform in the extreme cold to include the band, several children’s activities and several food vendors. For the safety of everyone we feel it best to cancel the Family Fun Night. We wish everyone a safe and happy New Year!"
