Via Colori Fredericksburg Saturday and Sunday

It’s time to paint the street … well, lots of colors.

The Via Colori, street painting festival comes to Fredericksburg Sept. 20-21.

The event brings a centuries-old tradition of large-scale pastel artworks to the streets of Fredericksburg, particularly Charlotte and Sophia streets, as well as Riverfront Park.

The event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon until 5 p.m. Sunday.

More than 100 artists are expected to participate this year, including stage performances. Proceeds benefit the Grace Oughton Cancer Foundation.

The City of Fredericksburg warns motorists that the 600-900 blocks of Sophia Street and the 100 block of Charlotte Street will be closed from 5 p.m. on Friday until 5 p.m. Sunday.
