Culpeper Western Outer Loop Nearing Completion
Another portion of the project should be open by noon Wednesday.

CULPEPER, VA — Another chunk of Culpeper's Western Outer Loop (Route 784) will open this week, possibly by noon Wednesday, according to Virginia Department of Transportation.
Traffic heading into Culpeper on Eggbornsville Road will cross over a new bridge, as will traffic heading west from Ira Hoffman.
Another chunk, from Sperryville Pike to the end of Saint Jameson’s Road, opened two weeks ago.

The purpose of the $17.1 million project is to have a two-lane divided connector road on new alignments in western Culpeper County, between Route 522 (Sperryville Pike) and Route 729 (Eggbornsville Road), according to VDOT.
Route 784, known as the Culpeper Western Outer Loop, presents an option to motorists traveling east into Culpeper on Route 522 that bypasses the Main Street corridor and associated traffic. It will also be used by travelers on Routes 229, 729 and 15/29 Business, who can take Route 694 (Ira Hoffman Lane) and the Western Outer Loop to their westerly destination.
