STAFFORD, VA—Authorities are looking for a male who tried to rob a Dollar General store Monday night on Deacon Road, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. He's described as black, probably a juvenile, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, black sandals and white socks. He was carrying a black backpack.
Around 7 p.m., police responded to the store for an attempted robbery. The cashier said an unknown man entered the store, got a bottled water and some candy and approached the counter. He then handed the cashier a note telling her to act normally and empty the register.
She told police the suspect spoke in a soft voice and told her to "give it up," and "hand it over," when he gave her the note. She told him she had to get her manager, after which he left the store.
