Donkey Stolen From Nativity Scene Christmas Day in Fredericksburg: Police

It wasn't a real live donkey, mind you, but it nonetheless was stolen from someone's front yard, according to Fredericksburg Police.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — So you put up nativity scene in your front yard with intentions of spreading the true spirit of Christmas for any all interested passers-by.

And then, on Christmas Day (Christmas Day!), someone steals a donkey (a donkey!) from your display.

That's what went down Sunday afternoon in the 1800 block of Charles Street, according to Fredericksburg Police.

The resident reported that an unknown person stole a donkey, which presumably was not a real live donkey — a fact confirmed Tuesday by a police spokesperson.

Larceny – Theft from a Building:

800 block Lafayette Boulevard, 12/22, 4:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown
person stole a package from her front porch. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Brock’s Riverside Grill, 503 Sophia Street, 12/23, 2:22 a.m. A citizen reported that an unknown
person stole her coat and car keys from the coat check. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1300 block King Street, 12/26, 11:00 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person stole
her generator from her front porch. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Larceny – Theft from a Motor Vehicle:

2400 block Cowan Boulevard, 12/22, 9:15 a.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person
broke into his vehicle and stole several tools and cash. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

100 block Caroline Street, 12/26, 8:30 p.m. A citizen reported that an unknown person shattered
her vehicle’s rear-passenger window and stole her purse. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Vandalism:
Hospitality House, 2801 Plank Road, 12/23, 7:00 p.m. An employee reported that an unknown
person marked graffiti on an exterior wall of the hotel. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

1100 block Caroline Street, 12/23, 2:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person
damaged his front door and the trim around his front door. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Vandalism of a Motor Vehicle:
700 block Cornell Street, 12/22, 3:00 p.m. A City resident reported that an unknown person
removed the radio antenna from her vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at this time.

Aladdin’s Bar and Grill, 2052 Plank Road, 12/25, 3:00 p.m. A citizen reported that an unknown
person cracked the rear-view window and windshield of his vehicle. No suspects or witnesses at
this time.
