Driver Who Tried To Run Over Woman Identified As Stafford Man: Police
Fredericksburg Police are searching for a Stafford man who they say tried to run over a woman late Thursday afternoon.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Investigators identified Anthony L. Pittman Jr. of Stafford as the driver who tried to run over a woman late Thursday afternoon on Riverside Drive, according to Fredericksburg Police.
Around 5:15 p.m., the E-911 Center received a report of a driver trying to run over a woman in the 400 block of Riverside Drive in Fredericksburg. During the incident, the driver hit a mile post on the Heritage Trail, which prevented him from striking the woman, according to police. The driver then left the area in a U-Haul pickup truck.
After gathering evidence from the scene, the detective in charge of the case identified Pittman as the suspect in the case. He is wanted on the following charges: attempted aggravated malicious wounding, reckless driving with the intent to injure, destruction of property and a protective order.
