7 THC Vapes In Stafford HS Student's Possession Lead To Criminal Complaint: Sheriff
School resource officers at two Stafford high schools filed criminal complaints against two students for possession of marijuana at school.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — School resource officers at two Stafford County high schools filed criminal complaints against students for having marijuana on school property on Friday. At one the schools, the SRO was tipped off that a "bathroom party" was taking place.
In the first case, Stafford County Sheriff's Deputy D.J. Taylor was conducting his SRO duties at Brooke Point High School at 1700 Courthouse Road on Friday. Around 9:30, he learned that a student in the nurse's office was intoxicated from a THC vape pen that another student had with them at school.
Brook Point staff members located the other student with the vape, which she tried and failed to pass off to a friend. Taylor filed a criminal complaint against the student for possession of marijuana on school grounds. No complaints were filed against the intoxicated student in the nurse's office.

Later that same day, Deputy R.B. Brooks was conducting his SRO duties at Stafford High School located at 63 Stafford Indians Lane. Around 1 p.m., he learned that a bathroom party was taking place and a staff member told him that the bathroom smelled like marijuana, according to the sheriff's office.
A search conducted by school administrators revealed that one student had seven THC vapes and one tobacco vape. Another student was found to have four tobacco vapes in their possession. All of the vapes were seized, according to the sheriff's office.

Brooks filed two criminal complaints against the first student for possession of marijuana on school property and underage possession of tobacco. The second student received a criminal complaint for underage possession of tobacco.
