Drunk Man Causes Multiple Auto Accidents in Stafford: Police
An off-duty deputy, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's office, spotted the sedan driving recklessly and notified his department.

STAFFORD, VA — An extraordinarily drunk man struck one vehicle Wednesday night and later was found to have been involved in two separate traffic accidents, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.
Steven Elliott, 37, of Barksdale Place, was charged with two counts of hit and run, property damage and driving under the influence of alcohol.
Around 7 p.m., an off-duty deputy in his personal vehicle was headed south on Route 1 when he saw a dark sedan make a U-turn near the Aquia Town Center entrance, hitting the driver's side of a silver van in the process.

The deputy notified headquarters and requested an ambulance be sent to the scene. He continued to follow Elliott, who didn't stop, from a safe distance before patrol units arrived and arrested the driver after he turned west onto Garrisonville Road and stopped at a traffic light at Salisbury Drive.
Another officer determined that two separate traffic accidents were caused by Elliott, who wasn't given a field sobriety test out of concern for his safety.
