A drunk woman drove her car through a fence and into a backyard swimming pool Friday night in Stafford: SCSO

STAFFORD, VA—A drunk woman drove her car through a fence and into a backyard swimming pool Friday night in the Embrey Mill neighborhood of north Stafford, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Lisa Marie Leone, 38, of Stafford, was charged with driving under the influence (second offense in 10 years), refusal to submit a breath sample, destruction of property and a traffic lane violation.

Around 11 p.m., police responded to reports of a vehicle having driven into a pool. After arriving at the scene, an officer found a woman "soaking wet and wrapped in a towel." He also smelled alcohol and saw that she had bloodshot, glassy eyes.

Leone said she was coming from the Embrey Mill Café when an animal jumped in front of her car. So she said she swerved to avoid hitting the animal, causing her to drive through the fence and into the pool.
