FREDERICKSBURG, VA — An 19-year-old Manassas man is being held in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond after being arrested for driving while intoxicated and on weapons charges.

Sgt. J.D. Hurt and Dep. J.R. Suarez of the Stafford County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an intoxicated person at the Wawa store located at 275 Butler Road.

The person who contacted police told them that the man had dropped his firearm while he was stumbling around the store. The caller also reported that when the store refused to sell the man tobacco because he didn't have an ID, the man asked to buy controlled substances instead, according to SCSO.

When the deputies searched the vehicle, they recovered an unspecified amount of controlled substances, a large amount of ammunition, and a rifle, according to the crime report.

During their investigation, the deputies also learned that Washington had a protective order out of Prince William County that prohibited him from being in possession of a firearm. In addition, Washington did not have a drivers license and told the deputies that the arrest would be his second DUI, according to SCSO's report.

Washington was charged with driving under the influence second offense within five years, unauthorized use of a vehicle, carrying a concealed weapon, two counts of possession of a firearm while a protective order is in effect, possession of controlled substances, underage possession of tobacco, and second offense driving without a driver’s license.
