Eagle Sports Roundup: Rowing Takes 2nd, Track Competes
UMW Women's Rowing Team places 2nd in Mid Atlantic Championships.

The University of Mary Washington women's rowing team finished in second place at the Mid Atlantic Rowing Conference championships on Saturday in York, Pa.
The women finished third in the varsity four, second in the second varsity eight, and fourth in the varsity eight. The men, who also competed on Saturday saw the pair finish second, and the varsity four finish fourth.
For the women, Steph Lefferts and Eva Campbell gained all-conference from the varsity boat, with Taylor Wilson from the novice. For the men, Dan Zimmerman and Zach Johnson gained all-conference honors. Lindsay Cutler, Marielle Gibbons, and Elisabeth Hancock were awarded academic all-conference.
UMW Track Sends Individuals to Mason Dixon Invite
The University of Mary Washington track and field teams competed at the Mason Dixon Championships on Saturday. Junior Yun Lee finished first for the Eagles in the triple jump, with a personal best leap of 36 feet, four inches. Michelle Sutherland was third in the 400 hurdles at 1:07.69, and Brooke Thompson was fourth at 1:09.2.
For the men, Sean Healy had a PR in the 5000 meters at 16:13.16, Carl Syverud cleared 12 feet, seven inches in the pole vault, and Nathaniel St. preux leapt 44 feet, 2.5 inches in the triple jump.
The teams will return to action on May 5 at the Liberty University Twilight Invitational.
