Early-Week Showers to Make Way for Sunshine: Weekly Weather Forecast

Take a look at the work-week forecast in Fredericksburg for Aug. 10-14.

After a beautiful weekend in the Washington, D.C. area, wet weather will make its return at the start of this week.

With that said, the early-week storms in the forecast are expected to pass by Tuesday evening, making way for plenty of sunshine in the back-half of the week.

Highs throughout the week are not expected to top 85 degrees, and some wind gusts may get up to as high as 20 miles per hour by the middle of the week.

Monday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after 3 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 84. South wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent.

Monday night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Cloudy, with a low around 71. Southeast wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 86. Southwest wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday night: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 66. Northwest wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Northwest wind around 11 mph.

Wednesday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 61.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 82.

Thursday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 63.

Friday: Sunny, with a high near 86.
