Did you know that more than 983,000 Virginians lack consistent access to
adequate food? Did you know that more
than 46 million Americans struggle to get enough to eat? Once you know, it’s hard to say no to helping
end hunger. That’s why Ebenezer United
Methodist Church is hosting its second annual kNOw Hunger event on Saturday,
May 20. It’s a full day of serving and
learning opportunities for all ages, focused on combating hunger globally and
locally.
Building on the success of last year’s event, kNOw Hunger will offer many
different ways to get involved.
Volunteers will pack 75,000 meals at Ebenezer’s Stafford campus to
answer the need for food worldwide. Teams
will also serve in the community with organizations like S.E.R.V.E. and Shalom
Farms. Last year’s event drew more than
600 participants and organizers hope to make it bigger and even more productive
this year.
kNOw Hunger is a great service opportunity for individuals, families and
groups. Volunteers can choose the
projects that best fit their schedules and preferences. Advance registration is required. For details, visit http://ebenezerumc.org/event/know-hunger/

can’t say no.
