Edward Lewis Maxwell, 81, of Spotsylvania County passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Marian Manor.
Mr. Maxwell was a U.S. Coast Guard, Navy veteran. He had retired from the McGuire VA Hospital as a chief engineer. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his children, Tammi Piguet (Dave), Terri Spencer (Rick), Robin Maxwell, Jodi Cox (Jim), Ed Maxwell (Leslie), Janni Ange (Michael), and Tanya McCuen, grandchildren Allison, Jeffrey, Travis, Heather, Andy, Craig, Melinda, Mark, Traci, Ashley and Matthew; 15 great grandchildren; one brother and one sister.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Maxwell and parents Ed and Mae Maxwell.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 30 at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg.

A service will be held at Noon Monday, March 31 at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Quantico National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2217 Princess Anne St. Suite 106-1F Fredericksburg, VA 22401.
