Elderly Man Who Went Missing Last Week Found Dead: Police
The 87-year-old Spotsylvania County man, who suffered from dementia, was first reported missing Friday night.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — An elderly Spotsylvania County man who went missing Friday was found dead Saturday in woods not far from his home. According to police, 87-year-old David Waller, who suffered from dementia, was found early Saturday morning after he was reported missing by his family the night before.
Officials said Waller walked away from his home in the 2000 block of Log Cabin Road. He was last seen by family members at 4 p.m. A Silver Alert was issued for Waller, and members of the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue team conducted a search for him with help from members of the Virginia Department of Emergency Management.
The investigation revealed no foul play, according to officials.
