Mystical Mandalas by Kandra Orr

Artist Kandra Orr will have an opening of her new art exhibition “Mystical Mandalas” on Friday and Saturday evenings, March 23 and 24, 2012 from 6 – 9 pm  

The mandala is one of humanity’s most ancient art forms and are said to invite self realization and personal growth.  They have been used historically for spiritual and emotional healing as well as for awakening the Spirit and soothing the Soul.

The word mandala is a synonym for sacred space; literally translated from Sanskrit mandala means “container of sacred essence”.  The circular design, ever evocative of completion, eternity and wholeness, invites reflection.  Types of mandalas may be found in all religions, as well as in psychology.  Kandra has chosen this art form because of the mandala’s fascinating calming beauty.
