Fatal Shooting Reported In Stafford County: Police
A man was fatally shot on Wednesday in Stafford County, authorities said. Investigators have not announced any arrests in the shooting.
STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A man was shot and killed on Wednesday night in the Rappahannock Landing neighborhood, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said.
Authorities identified the victim as 42-year-old Darrick Campbell. He died at the scene of the shooting.
Investigators have not publicly announced any arrests or identified any suspects in connection with the shooting. On Thursday morning, the sheriff's office said the victim knew the shooter.

The shooting occurred around 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday in the 200 block of Streamview Drive, authorities said. When first responders arrived on the scene, they found the victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Deputies attempted life-saving care before an ambulance arrived, but Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Detectives worked through the night collecting evidence and talking with witnesses," the sheriff's office said. "While it is still the preliminary stages of our investigation, it appears the victim and suspect knew each other and this was not a random act of violence."
