Four Teens Arrested After Assault on Sheriff's Deputy: Media Report

Sheriff's Office: Charges stem from fight that broke out at Spotsylvania High School.

A fight with sheriff’s deputies on Saturday at Spotsylvania High School led to the arrest of four teenagers from Prince William County, a police spokesman said.

A sheriff’s deputy arrested Ronald Stevens, 18, of Woodbridge for assault on a school official, according to a report from the Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office. And three juvenile teens were arrested for breaking and entering, assault on law enforcement and assault by mob.

Capt. Jeff Pearce, a sheriff’s office spokesman, told WJLA Channel 7, a Washington TV station, that the 14-year-old and two 17-year-olds are from Prince William County.

Pearce told WJLA that the incident began around 3 p.m. Saturday following a basketball tournament, when an administrator caught four teens breaking into the school’s cafeteria and called sheriff’s deputies. Two deputies arrived and, as the 14-year-old was being arrested, the juvenile started punching a deputy.

A group of 15 to 18 youths arrived on the scene, and a scuffle broke out, according to WJLA.
