Fredericksburg area voters headed to the polls today and made their choices on who will represent them in several offices including Virginia House of Delegates, Senate, Fredericksburg Clerk of Court, Stafford and Spotsylvania boards of supervisors, and more.

Among notable projected wins was Tinesha Allen, who upset incumbent Jack Cavalier for the open Griffis–Widewater District seat on the Stafford County Board of Supervisors. Edging out Cavalier by just 18 votes, Allen is first African-American elected to the board, the Free Lance-Star reported.

Also, in a key House of Delegates race, Democrat Joshua Cole is the projected winner with 13,325 votes to Paul Milde III's 12,289 votes. The district representing Fredericksburg and part of Stafford County was up for grabs after Del. Bob Thomas lost the primary.
