Fredericksburg Virginia Cab Company driver Robert Limerick's quick actions July 9 helped get a convulsing woman to safety in the 2900 block of Lafayette Boulevard.

Limerick was on the road when he said two men flagged him down at about 9:33 a.m. Monday, July 9, to call 911 for the woman. Limerick said the two men did not have cell phones so he had called 911 and then attended to the woman. Limerick stayed on the line with Spotsylvania County dispatchers until medics arrived. Limerick originally was connected with the Fredericksburg Police Department 911 center and was transferred to Spotsylvania County, who sent medics to the location.

"I was told that I did a great job by emergency workers and the 911 dispatcher," he said. "The young lady was having a major seizure and slamming her head against the porch floor when I walked up."
