Fredericksburg Chamber Honors Police, EMTs For Heroism, Integrity
The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized first responders Tuesday morning at its fourth annual awards event.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce recognized first responders Tuesday morning at its fourth annual First Responders Appreciation Breakfast and Awards event.
The Chamber created the event to allow the business community to thank the area's first responders. The awards were given to first responders who were selected by their peers based on their actions and service to the region.
The 2020 honorees for Excellence in Criminal Investigations are:

- Detective Melanie Schafer, Fredericksburg Police Department
- Detective Joshua Scott, Stafford County Sheriff’s Office
- Detective Sergeant Drew Massey, Detective Brian Woodring, Detective Joseph Patterson of the King George County Sheriff ’s Office
The 2020 honorees for Heroism Awards are:
- Lieutenant Bobby Rivenbark, LifeCare Medical Transports
- Lieutenant Thomas McGowan, LifeCare Medical Transports
The 2020 Business and Innovation Award honorees are:

"The Chamber is proud to honor citizens who stepped in to assist another person in their time of desperate need," the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce said Tuesday in a statement. "These contributions to the Fredericksburg area are irreplaceable."
