Fredericksburg City Public Schools Decide On Classes For Feb. 23
The incoming snowstorm has forced Fredericksburg City Public Schools to change how classes will operate on Monday, Feb. 23.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Due to the impending winter storm, Fredericksburg City Public Schools will operate on a two-hour delay on Monday, Feb. 23.
Twelve-month employees should report two hours late on Monday. Essential personnel should report on time based on their supervisor's direction.
"We will continue to monitor weather and road conditions and will reevaluate in the morning if any adjustments are necessary," according to an alert on the FCPS website. "We will communicate any change by 7:00 AM, if necessary. Thank you for your continued partnership and flexibility."

A winter weather advisory is in place from 5 p.m. Sunday to 10 a.m. Monday for the District of Columbia, and much of Northern Virginia, including Fredericksburg, according to the National Weather Service.
Total snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches is expected with localized amounts around 5 inches, the NWS said. Look for northwest winds gusting between 30 and 40 mph overnight through Monday.

"A chance of rain and snow before 1 p.m., then a slight chance of rain between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.," according to the NWS forcast for Monday. "Mostly cloudy, with a high near 43. Breezy, with a northwest wind 14 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent."
Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute.
