Fredericksburg City Public Schools Make Feb. 6 Decision
Fredericksburg City Public Schools has updated its schedule for students and employees on Friday, Feb. 6.
FREDERICKSBURG, VA — For the second day in a row, Fredericksburg City Public Schools will operate on a 2-hour delay on Friday, Feb. 6, according to an alert on the FCPS website.
The decision to operate on a 2-hour delay on Friday is due to the expected below-freezing temperatures that will refreeze ice and snow on the roads in the morning. A 2-hour delay will provide necessary sunlight and warmer temperatures, making it safer for students and staff.
"At this time, there remain some locations where school buses may be unable to safely enter or maneuver single-lane roads," according to the alert. In these cases, buses may need to pick up students at a nearby safe location that may differ from the usual bus stop. With low temperatures and possible longer transportation wait times, please wear warm clothing."
