Fredericksburg Community Night Means Free Tickets to Richmond Flying Squirrels Baseball Game
Promotional effort by the Class AA baseball team to reach out to areas relatively close to Richmond but without a professional team.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Fredericksburg Community Night will be held Aug. 30 in. . .Richmond.
Sound a bit odd? Actually, it's a promotional effort by the Richmond Flying Squirrels Class AA baseball team.
Free tickets will be available for pickup by area residents at the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce.

"It's something we've being doing for a while, reaching out to larger areas that are somewhat close to Richmond but don't have a professional baseball team," Flying Squirrels representative Erin McDonald said Thursday.
Dawn Haun, communications manager for the Fredericksburg Chamber, said residents can reserve tickets by calling the office at 540-373-9400.

"We don't actually have the tickets here yet," she said, "but anyone who reserves tickets definitely will receive them."
The free tickets can be picked up from the Chamber offices at 2300 Fall Hill Avenue.
The Flying Squirrels are an affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. Their stadium, The Diamond, is on Boulevard right off I-95. The Squirrels' opponent that night will be the Hartford Yard Goats.
