Fredericksburg Coronavirus Update: 14 Confirmed Cases

There are now 14 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Fredericksburg, officials announced Tuesday afternoon.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA – There are now 14 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Fredericksburg, officials announced Tuesday afternoon.

Fire Chief Mike Jones gave an update Tuesday on the number of cases in the health district, which is now at 188 confirmed cases. There are 95 cases in Stafford, 56 in Spotsylvania, 16 in King George, and seven in Caroline.

"We are actively pursuing those and looking those over to make sure we don't have any consistency or outbreaks that would occur," Jones said.

Fredericksburg city offices are still open for business, even though they are closed the public. Jones encouraged residents to call or email offices for assistance if needed.

SCHOOLS

Laptop distribution for 8th grade students will take place on Thursday, April 16 from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m., and again on Monday, April 20 from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
