As you are cooking and perhaps preparing a holiday meal this weekend, remember good practices in the kitchen. COVID-19 spreads mainly through person-to-person contact. The first line of defense in germ transfer is cleanliness and this applies to food preparation too. Handwashing—during food preparation, before and after touching others, and before and after using the bathroom, going outside, and handling potentially germ-laden objects—is an excellent preventative practice for both healthy and infected individuals. Remember to wipe and disinfect surfaces in the kitchen as you prepare food.
