Fredericksburg Dog Show Coming Back To Expo Center

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Celebrate Virginia Cluster Dog Show is returning to the Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center, with five days of dog shows that will be free to spectators. The show, hosted by the Greater Fredericksburg, the Northern Neck and the Charlottesville-Albermarle kennel clubs, runs from Wednesday, Jan. 8 to Sunday, Jan. 12.

Along with the dog competitions, the show will have other activities for participants and spectators. On Friday, Jan. 10, there will be an eye clinic with Dr. Ann Bosiack from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The charge will be $50 per dog. The show has added a free Peewee Competition where children and their dogs can get into the show ring with a judge. Children between the ages of five and nine can participate in the competition on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 12:45 p.m.

People who visit the dog show on Saturday can take part in the Responsible Dog Owner Education and Meet the Breed event between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Exhibtors are asked to make sure vaccinations for their dogs are current and to bring a copy of their dogs' current rabies certificate. Exhibitors also are required to clean up after their dogs under an ordinance of the city of Fredericksburg.

The Fredericksburg Expo & Conference Center is located at 2371 Carl D. Silver Pkwy. Along with free parking for spectators and exhibitors during the day, overnight parking in motor homes and trailers will be allowed in the expo center parking lot for $20 per night.
