Fredericksburg Film Festival Returns To Downtown With Screenings, Panels

The Fredericksburg Film Festival runs June 25-28 in downtown Fredericksburg with films, workshops and Q&As.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — The Fredericksburg Film Festival will return to downtown Fredericksburg from June 25 to 28 with screenings, workshops, filmmaker Q&As, mixers and other events focused on independent film.

The 2026 festival’s theme is “Cinema That Connects,” according to the FXBG event listing. Organizers said the festival will feature independent filmmaking from the local community and around the world.

Events are scheduled at several downtown venues, including The Marriott, The Publisher, 718 Venue, Reign The Venue and Ironclad Inn. The festival is listed as an all-day event from Thursday, June 25, through Sunday, June 28, in downtown Fredericksburg. Tickets are listed at $15 to $40.

Presented by 1108 Media, the festival is intended to celebrate storytelling through film and uplift diverse voices and perspectives, according to the event's website.

Dalton Okolo, a Nigerian-American director, writer and producer based in Fredericksburg, is the festival’s co-founder and executive director. Okolo works with Virginia-based filmmakers through 1108 Media and aims to create a platform where filmmakers can connect, collaborate and share their work.

The festival places a special focus on Virginia-based talent and is designed to include filmmakers at different stages of their careers, from students to seasoned professionals. Programming includes panel discussions, Q&As and networking events.

Virginia Films
The “VA is for Film Lovers” block includes “Heaven Spot,” “Untouchable,” “In Your Dreams,” “Dead Giveaway,” “Homie,” “Connection” and “Vicarious.”

Student Films
Student films include “Mole, mole!,” “Macabre,” “Pompeii,” “Drifting,” “Dirty Work,” “The Girl In White,” “Baby Brother” and “Pas de Deux.”

Themed Film Blocks
The festival also lists film blocks focused on abstract cinema, adult animation, kids animation, LGBTQ films, international stories, women in film, suspense and horror.

Kids Animation
The Kids Animation block includes “Magic Candies,” “The Queen’s Flowers,” “Autokar,” “Awaiting the Lighting Bolt,” “Snow Bear” and “Ostrich.”

Suspense And Horror
The Suspense & Horror block includes “Playing God,” “Terror Night,” “Petra and The Sun,” “LOUD,” “Attached,” “The Quinta’s Ghost” and “Self Shadow Animus.”
