Fredericksburg Fire Open House To Offer Activities, Live Demos
The Fredericksburg Fire Department's open house will be held Oct. 13 and all residents are invited to attend.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — An open house at the Fredericksburg Fire Department is planned Oct. 13, and the event will offer an array of family-friendly activities. The open house is scheduled 1-4 p.m. at 601 Princess Anne St. in downtown Fredericskburg.
Attendees can watch live firefighter demonstrations and check out equipment used by the water rescue and dive team, in addition to the haz mat, drone and tactical EMS teams. Fire engines, ladder trucks and other vehicles also will be on hand for kids to explore.
Other activities include learning out to use a fire extinguisher and how to stop bleeding using a real tourniquet. Kids can also ride the barrel train, jump in the moon bounce and more.

Food and drink will be provided at the open house. The event is free to attend, and parking is available at the Sofia Street parking garage as well as on the street. In the event of rain, the open house will be held Oct. 20.
