Fredericksburg Independent Book Festival 2017 Saturday

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — More than 120 authors will be on hand 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Riverfront Park in downtown for the 2nd annual Independent Book Festival. Among those in attendance: children's book authors, you adult novelists, poets and other fiction and non-fiction writer from across Fredericksburg, Virginia as well as the nation.

There will be live music, food, kids activities, readings, book signings, panel discussions and four guest speakers at the free event. The festival's stated reason for being: "Our mission is to provide a venue for local authors, graphic novelists, publishers (and) book artists to market their work and to foster an interest in reading, writing and literature. There's a raffle. Here's more information, per the festival:

Guests are encouraged to register. Your tickets qualify you for prizes offered in every raffles held throughout the day, so be sure to register any young readers you have! Raffle Rules:

• Attendees must register with Eventbrite to be eligable for a prize. Tickets will be placed in a box and drawn at random.
• One prize per household.
• Winner must be present at the festival in order to receive prize. If the winner does not collect the prize within thirty minutes of the drawing, another drawing will be held and the prize awarded to a different attendee.
• Winners may not haggle about prizes or exchange prizes with the FiBF for something different. If a raffle winner does not want the prize, he or she may allow FiBF to draw another ticket and award the prize to someone else.
• There will be five drawings throughout the day. Each prize consists of the following:

a. One (1) Kindle Fire 8 HD (Worth $79.00 + taxes).

b. Our choice of any amount of books, art, or other work provided to the festival.

c. Any other prize donated by local businesses.
