Fredericksburg Man Dies In Crash On I-95 In Spotsylvania County
The Virginia State Police are investigating a crash on I-95 in Spotsylvania County that killed a Fredericksburg man Thursday morning.
SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — The Virginia State Police are investigating a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 95 in Spotsylvania County that killed a Fredericksburg man Thursday morning. The crash occurred around 9 a.m. at the 117.3 mile-marker on the interstate highway.
A 2009 Toyota Corolla was traveling north on I-95 when it ran off the right side of the roadway and collided with a guard rail. The impact caused the Toyota to come back into the travel lanes and collided with a northbound 2005 Freightliner tractor trailer.
The driver of the Toyota, Michael R. Sprague, 31, of Fredericksburg died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The driver of the tractor trailer, a 49-year-old man from Galion, Ohio, was not injured in the crash.

The Virginia Department of Transportation and the Spotsylvania Fire and EMS assisted the state police at the scene of the crash.
