Fredericksburg Man Killed In Apartment Shooting: Police

The suspects in the shooting, in the 1200 block of Kenmore Avenue, are believed to be three males who were wearing masks, the police said.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A Fredericksburg man was killed Saturday night in a shooting inside an apartment in the 1200 block of Kenmore Avenue, according to the Fredericksburg Police Department. At just after 9 p.m. Saturday, police received a call of gunshots fired inside the apartment. Fredericksburg police responded and found two victims.

One of the victims, Jamil Washington, 34, died at the scene and the other victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he received medical attention and was released Sunday morning. Washington's next of kin was notified of his death.

After arriving at the apartment, patrol officers set up a perimeter around the apartment complex, two blocks east of the University of Mary Washington campus, and began their investigation. The suspects are believed to be three black males who were wearing masks, the police said. The investigation, according to the police, is active and ongoing.
