FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 21-year-old Fredericksburg man remains in jail without bond after Stafford County police say that he stole a vehicle and then led deputies on a high-speed chase before being arrested.
Emmanuel Navarro was arrested without incident in the 200 block of Spotted Tavern Road just after 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Department reported on Wednesday. Deputies began pursuing the vehicle Navarro was driving after deputies saw the vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed near Warrenton Road and Stork Road.
Deputies attempted to pull the vehicle over but the vehicle did not stop and the driver made a number of U-turns on Warrenton Road before he turned onto Stark Road. Police said that the pursuit continued for several miles as the vehicle continued a pattern of slowing down and then speeding up. The chase finally ended when the vehicle eventually stopped on Spotted Tavern Road.
