Fredericksburg Man Who Missed MD Hearing Arrested In Fairfax City
A 32-year-old Fredericksburg man was served with arrest warrants in Fairfax City for failure to appear and being a fugitive from justice.

FAIRFAX CITY, VA — A 32-year-old Fredericksburg man who failed to make a court date in Prince George’s County, Maryland to face drug and weapons charges was arrested recently in the City of Fairfax.
Officers responded around 4:53 p.m., on Oct. 1, to the Probation and Parole Office at 10680 Main St. where they served Shuaib Kamara with arrest warrants for failure to appear and being a fugitive of justice. He was then taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.
A bench warrant for Kamara’s arrest was issued on Sept. 20 after he failed to show up for a scheduled hearing in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, according to court records.

Kamara, who was orignally arrested on May 17, faced felony charges of possession of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime, possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, drug possession with the intent to distribute, and possession of firearms, according to court records.
In addition, Kamara was cited on misdemeanor charges of illegal possession of ammunition and the possession of the civil use amount of cannabis or the personal use amount of cannabis, court records say.

Following an Oct. 2 bond hearing in Fairfax County General District Court, Kamara was released on his own recognizance. He is due back in court on Nov. 1 for his extradition hearing, court documents say.
