Fredericksburg Primary Voter Guide: What’s On The Aug. 4 Ballot

Fredericksburg voters can begin casting ballots for Virginia's primary election on June 18. Here's who is on the ballot.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Early in-person voting in Fredericksburg begins Thursday for Virginia’s Aug. 4 Republican Party primary election.

The Virginia Department of Elections can request a primary election to nominate Democratic and Republican candidates for U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives and local offices.

For this primary, voters will see a 7th Congressional District and a U.S. Senate race on the primary ballot.

U.S. House Of Representatives 7th District - Republican Primary

Early in-person voting will run from June 18 through Saturday, Aug. 1, at the Office of Voter Registration and Elections, FXBG City Center, 601 Caroline St., Suite 500 in Fredericksburg. Election Day is Tuesday, Aug. 4.

The deadline to register to vote or update an existing voter registration is Friday, July 24, which is also the deadline to request a mail-in ballot. Voters can also register to vote at the polls and cast a provisional ballot.

Visit the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal to register, check your registration status, or apply to receive an absentee ballot by mail. The Department of Elections website also offers information on what identification to bring with you to the polls.

During early voting, curbside voting is available on Wolfe Street for the Office of Voter Registration and Elections.

The 24-hour drop box is located behind the FXBG City Center, which is located at 601 Caroline St.

Another drop box is located inside the Office of Voter Registration and Elections during election hours. On election day, drop boxes are located at each precinct. Ballot drop boxes lock at 7 p.m. on Election Day. The Fredericksburg Office of Voter Registration and Elections will be closed June 19 and July 3 for Juneteenth and Independence Day, respectively.
