Fredericksburg School Calendar 2022-23: Holidays, Key Dates

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Summer is just about over for students and teachers in the City of Fredericksburg.

Students will be back in classrooms in Fredericksburg on Monday, Aug. 8 for the first day of school.

Whether or not you and your children are looking forward to the upcoming school year, you will want to write down the dates in your calendar as soon as possible.

Here is the full list of dates to know for the 2022-23 school year:

• Aug. 8, 2022: First day of school.
• Sept. 1, 2022: Early dismissal for students
• Sept. 2-5, 2022: Labor Day holiday.
• Sept. 14, 2022: Early dismissal for students.
• Sept. 26, 2022: Rosh Hashanah holiday, no school for students and staff.
• Oct. 5, 2022: Yom Kippur holiday, no school for students and staff.
• Oct. 12, 2022: Teacher workday, no school for students.
• Oct. 19, 2022: Early dismissal for students.
• Nov. 8, 2022: Election Day. No school for students and staff.
• Nov. 11, 2022: Veterans Day. No school for students and staff.
• Nov. 22, 2022: Early dismissal for students.
• Nov. 23-25, 2022: Thanksgiving break.
• Dec. 21, 2022: Early dismissal for students.
• Dec. 23, 2022-Jan. 2, 2023: Winter break.
• Jan. 3, 2023: Teacher workday, no school for students.
• Jan. 16, 2023: Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
• Jan. 20, 2023: No school for students. It will be a workday and "advocacy day."
• Feb. 20, 2023: Presidents' Day.
• March 9, 2023: Early dismissal for students.
• March 10, 2023: Teacher workday, no school for students.
• March 13-17, 2023: Spring break.
• April 7, 2023: Teacher workday, no school for students.
• April 10, 2023: Easter Monday, no school for staff or students.
• April 21, 2023: Early dismissal for students.
• May 23-26, 2023: Early dismissal for students.
• May 26, 2023: Last day of school.
