Friday & Saturday Live Music Highlights

In the mood for live music? Check out one or two of these shows this weekend.

It will be a great weekend for music in Fredericksburg. Even if it is raining, it is not too cold, enjoy the fall drizzle, and enjoy a meal, a drink, and good tunes.

Friday, Sept 23, 2011

  • 7  p.m. - p.m. - : Phenominal Conundrum Returns/ Church of Kadin, Cory Blanch, Alex Culbreth, Karen Jonas  - Fredericksburg's traveling minstrels return to their hometown for a short while. Enjoy the ballads of two travelers with their rusty and honest voices at one of the best kept secrets in Fredericksburg.  (You should really see the decor of this place! It's phenominal)
  • 7:30 p.m. - The Tavern @ Lee’s Hill: Ashleigh Chevalier & Hunter Wolfe: Silk & Grit Blues Duo* - Hunter Wolfe, 2008 National Slide Guitar Champion, brings the grit and old soul with his originals and compliment the old soul silk of Ashleigh Chevalier. Enjoy good tunes and good food at this stop. 
  • 8 p.m. - : Boothill & Cowboy Classic (Country)* - The way country should be. Period. Al Burrell leads the team.
  • 9 p.m. - (Eagle Village): Blues Buckets - It is a Texas Blues and Rock Party. 
  • 10 p.m. - The Blues Tips: Rhythm Revue & Dance Cancer Benefit - Elliot Currie leads the Blue Tips through a solid evening of soul, motown, and groovin' blues and rock. It's a popular band of Fredericksburg all stars, makin' a rare club appearance for a cause.

  • 7 p.m. - Laura Shepherd*^ - Laura, who is the Featured Musician in September 2011's Front Porch Magazine, will play a lovely and heart warming acoustic set. 
  • 9 p.m. - The Idiomatics & She Bears (Indie Rock) - Local Indie heroes, The Idiomatics never cease to please an indie and song loving crowd. Their EP, Star King, has killer tunes. Check out the track featured on www.FredRockMusicLink.com. It's a hit. 
  • 9 p.m. - (Rock)*^ - Fredericksburg's Alt-rock legends with, the dust of Texas on their strings and vocal chords. This band has an amazing sound. Check out the article posted recently on Patch. 
  • 9 p.m. - NuCorp (Variety/Dance/R&B/Pop) - This is a stop all the dancers in town don't want to miss. You will love the music, the band, and the dance floor.
