Fugitive Captured After Stealing Play-Doh In Stafford: Police

A fugitive from West Virginia was apprehended Tuesday after being caught stealing Play-Doh from a Target in Stafford, says the SCSO.

STAFFORD, VA — A fugitive was captured Tuesday after being caught stealing Play-Doh from a Target department store at 25 South Gateway Drive, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office. Ciara Dakota Ratliff, 24, was charged with felony shoplifting (multiple prior offenses), intoxicated in public, identity theft, providing false identification to a low enforcement officer, possession of marijuana and being a fugitive from justice. She had been sought on unrelated charges in West Virginia.

Police were at the store when they saw the woman behaving oddly in the women's clothing section. In one hand she had a black purse and in the other she had a container of Play-Doh, all the while being unsteady on her feet. Then they watched her leave the store without paying for the Play-Doh and was promptly detained.

When asked her identity, she gave a false name before finally fessing up about who she really was. Police found a small about of marijuana in her purse. She was wanted in West Virginia on escape and destruction of property charges.
