General Election 2019: Fairfax City Candidates, Poll Hours, More

Fairfax City voters head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballots. Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day.

Election Day is just around the corner, and voters will head to their designated polling places to cast their ballots in the 2019 Virginia general election. In Fairfax City, several races appear on the ballot, including the Virginia House of Delegates, Senate, Fairfax County sheriff and commonwealth attorney.

Election Day is Tuesday, and polls in the Fairfax City are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. As long as you are in line by 7 p.m., you will be able to vote.

  • Precinct One: Fairfax Presbyterian Church, 10723 Main St.
  • Precinct Two: Stacy C. Sherwood Community Center, 3740 Old Lee Hwy.
  • Precinct Three: Daniels Run School, 3705 Old Lee Hwy.
  • Precinct Four: Fairfax City Hall Annex, 10455 Armstrong St. Room #111.
  • Precinct Five: Fairfax High School, 3501 Rebel Run.
  • Precinct Six: Christ Lutheran Church, 3810 Meredith Dr.

Fairfax City residents can verify their polling place on the Virginia Department of Elections website.

To vote in person in Virginia, voters must provide an acceptable form of photo identification at the polls. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Valid Virginia driver’s license or identification card.
  • Valid Virginia DMV issued veteran’s ID card.
  • Valid United States passport.
  • Other government-issued photo identification cards (must be issued by the U.S. Government, the Commonwealth of Virginia, or a political subdivision of the Commonwealth.)
  • Tribal enrollment or other tribal ID.
  • Valid college or university student photo identification card.
  • Valid student ID issued by a public school or private school in Virginia displaying a photo.
  • Employee identification card containing a photograph of the voter and issued by an employer of the voter in the ordinary course of the employer’s business.

If you have a physical disability, you can still vote on Election Day without leaving your vehicle. If you need to use curbside voting, remember to bring a helper with you who can enter the polling place to ask an election officer for curbside assistance.

If voting absentee, the deadline for mailed ballots to be received by the Voter Registration Office, 10455 Armstrong St., Fairfax, VA 22030, is Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 7 p.m.
