Graffiti Suspect On Film After Six Storefronts Tagged Monday Night
There have been several incidents of graffiti in downtown Fredericksburg in recent weeks. Police now have an image of a person of interest.
Overnight, six businesses in Fredericksburg found storefronts defaced with graffiti. It’s a similar story to other recent reports — but this time a person of interest was caught on video.
Police are hoping the video surveillance helps identify the individual, seen spray painting the door of one business.
The man is described as a black male wearing a purple hat and yellow shirt.

Businesses targeted include:
- Union Market First Bank, 725 Kenmore Avenue
- Michael Barrett Law, 816 William Street
- Mr. Postal, 600 Caroline Street
- Downtown Cleaners, 510 Kenmore Avenue
- Freedom Worship, 318 Jefferson Davis Highway
- Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 309 Wolfe Street
Police note the graffiti Monday night and Tuesday morning has no pattern. Some other recent graffiti downtown has included symbols.
