Victim Suffered Fractured Nose After Assault Outside Jay's Sports Lounge: Police

An assault outside Jay's Sports Lounge led to assault charges for a couple from Prince William County. Both suspects turned themselves in.

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Two suspects turned themselves in after an assault outside Jay's Sports Lounge, the Stafford County Sheriff's Office said. Joel Clark and Tyrone Archie faces charges of assault by mob.

Deputies learned about the assault around 3 a.m. on Feb. 27. A victim, who police did not identify, suffered injuries to his face and received treatment at the Stafford Hospital Center.

The victim told police that he was at Jay's Sports Lounge when he saw a former friend drag someone out of the restaurant. He identified the ex-friend as Tyrone Archie, a 35-year-old man from Woodbridge.

The victim followed Archie outside to see what caused Archie's actions, police said. Authorities claimed that Archie then pushed the victim and punched him in the face.

The sheriff's office also claimed that Archie's girlfriend, Joel Clark, joined in the assault.

The victim suffered a fractured nose in the assault and required stitches near his eye.

Earlier in the day, Clark had applied for a job at Jay's Sports Lounge, the sheriff's office said. Her information was readily available for the investigating deputy.

Archie and Clark both turned themselves in. The magistrate released them on unsecure bonds, police said. They are both charged with one count of assault by mob.
