Gun Threat Closes Mary Washington Fredericksburg Campus: Report
The threatening voicemail prompted university officials to cancel all classes and events Monday.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — University of Mary Washington officials canceled classes and events Monday after a threatening voicemail was received by a member of the school community. According to a report, the voicemail allegedly contained a threat from a caller who said someone with a gun would be coming to the Fredericksburg campus.
Students and staff were notified around 1:30 p.m.,the Free Lance-Star reported. The university issued a shelter-in-place advisory, which was lifted around 3 p.m.
Campus police investigated the incident and determined the threat was not credible. The person responsible has been arrested and charged, according to reports.
