Hazing Alleged in Spotsylvania High Locker Room
Two victims in alleged assault by teammates, according to Sheriff Roger Harris. So far, one student has been charged.
At least one student is facing charges at Spotsylvania High School after accusations of hazing before a football game, according to Spotsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
Detectives were notified Friday morning of the alleged assault last month, and they are working in cooperation with the Spotsylvania County School System, according to the SCSO.
Two student athletes at the high school were allegedly hazed and assaulted by an unknown number of other members of the football team on Oct. 23, prior to an away game, according to the sheriff’s office.

A video on social media was provided to law enforcement, according to The Free Lance-Star.
On Friday, detectives charged one suspect, 15, with attempted sodomy with an inanimate object, a felony; and assault by mob, a misdemeanor, according to SCSO spokesperson Capt. Jeff Pearce.

The suspect was transported to the Rappahannock Juvenile Detention Facility.
Detectives and school resource officers are interviewing several additional teens to determine the extent of the alleged crimes and the identities of those who were involved, according to Pearce.
Sheriff Roger Harris said, “This incident, causing the victimization of our young people is a very serious matter. Schools should be a safe haven for our kids and we will continue to thoroughly investigate this matter.”
