STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — A high-speed police chase in Stafford County led to a pair of arrests and a slew of charges on Saturday morning.

After the chase, deputies arrested Anthony Raposo, who was driving the fleeing car, and Quinn Poole, who was a passenger.

Both suspects were held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

The chase began after a deputy spotted a car with a fake license plate at the Wawa on Garrisonville Road around 1 a.m. on Saturday, authorities said. The deputy tried to stop the car, but it drove onto southbound Interstate 95.

"As more deputies responded, the suspect vehicle sped up to 120 MPH," the Stafford County Sheriff's Office wrote in a report.

Near exit 126, the fleeing car struck a guardrail, reversed, and continued to flee, authorities said. The chase eventually ended near Southpoint Plaza, and Raposo and Quinn were taken into police custody. Authorities said that they both had outstanding warrants.

Deputies noted that Raposo was unsteady on his feet and had dilated pupils.

Raposo was charged with driving under the influence, eluding, failure to maintain the lane of travel, reckless driving, improperly passing on the shoulder, operating an uninsured vehicle, not wearing a seatbelt, hit and run, altering of a license plate, two counts of possession of schedule I or II controlled substances, possession of schedule III controlled substances, and false statement to police.

Poole was charged with possession of schedule I or II controlled substances, possession of schedule III controlled substances, four counts of forgery, perjury, falsely identifying herself to law enforcement, and identity theft to avoid arrest.
