Malicious Wounding, Assault Charges Filed In Fredericksburg Road Rage Incident

A 28-year-old woman is facing multiple charges in connection to a road rage incident Friday in Fredericksburg, authorities say.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — A 28-year-old woman was arrested in a road rage incident on Friday in which she repeatedly struck another vehicle with her own vehicle and then attacked the other driver with with a knife, according to authorities.

Fredericksburg. police responded around 5 p.m. to the investigate the report of a vehicle crash in the 2200 block of Emancipation Highway.

"While officers were en route to the scene, additional information was received that one vehicle was fleeing the scene," according to the incident report. "The striking vehicle continued southbound, and the victim vehicle followed. Both vehicles stopped in the 3300 block of Emancipation Highway where the suspect vehicle intentionally struck the victim vehicle with her vehicle several times while it was occupied."

The driver of the striking vehicle then exited her vehicle and began stabbing the other driver in the hand with a knife, according to the report.

Arriving on the scene, oficers administered aid to the victim until the arrival of emergency medical personnel, according to the report. After taking the suspect into custody without incident, police recovered the knife at the scene.

Police arrested 28-year-old Alexis Spencer, charging her with malicious wounding, felony hit and run, assault and aggressive driving. She was then held without bond at the Rappahannock Regional Jail

The victim was treated for minor, non-life-threatening injuries on scene, and released.
