Officials with the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Department are searching for a driver who hit a 17-year-old boy walking on Massaponax Church Road.

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, VA — Officials with the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office are searching the driver of a truck who they say hit and seriously injured a 17-year-old boy before fleeing the scene. The accident happened while the victim was walking in the 5300 block of Massaponax Church Road.

The accident happened in the early evening hours of Tuesday. The victim sustained serious injuries in the accident and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Deputies are now searching for the driver of a 2009 Ford F150 pickup. The color of the truck is unknown, though it should have damage to the passenger side mirror.
