Holiday Brews Come to Fredericksburg

There’s nothing inherently naughty about beer. In fact, a brew flavored with holiday spices like orange peel and allspice sounds pretty nice.

Several Fredericksburg area breweries recently released their version of holiday brewski, according to Fredericksburg.com. These beers are way better than eggnog, and only out for a limited time so grab them while they last.

The following beers have been released for the winter beer season:

• Merry Krampus from Rusty Beaver Brewery in Ruther Glen. A spiced porter with smoky malt and holiday spices.
• Christmas Ale from Adventure Brewing in Stafford. A beer with hints of orange peel, cinnamon, ginger and allspice. Mary Washington Gingerbread Ale is also still available at Adventure Brewing.
• Spiced Winter Ale from Spotsylvania County’s Blue and Gray Brewing Company. A deep amber ale with flavors of cardamom, allspice and cinnamon.
• Snots Winter Warmer from Beer Hound Brewery in Culpeper. A brown ale, 9.1 percent alcohol by volume, with spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger and allspice.
