Santa To Visit Fredericksburg's Holiday Open House Weekend

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — With Thanksgiving less than three weeks away, Fredericksburg is already getting into the holiday spirit.
The city’s annual Holiday Open House Weekend, when downtown Fredericksburg will be decorated for the occasion, kicks off the holiday season Nov. 13-14. Santa Claus is expected to make appearances and posing with children at the event.
The Rappahannock Fredericksburg Rotary Club will have Santa’s Mailbox on the corner of Caroline and George streets near FORT To-Go from Nov. 27 to Dec. 19. All letters received will get a response from Santa. Children and others who drop a letter in Santa’s Mailbox should remember to include a return address.

The Fredericksburg Christmas Parade will be held in downtown Fredericksburg on Saturday, Dec. 4 starting at 5:30 p.m. Several streets in downtown Fredericksburg will close for the event, and parking will be restricted. Information about where to park and best places to view the parade is available at FredericksburgChristmasParade.com.
The FXBG Winter Wine Fest will be held on Dec. 4. Residents and visitors are invited to visit Historic Kenmore for the Wee Christmas Dollhouse Show starting Dec. 5 and enjoy Ferry Farm’s Gingerbread House Contest and Exhibit Dec. 5-30.

For visitors to downtown Fredericksburg, on-street parking spaces that typically have two-hour limits will have four-hour limits during the holiday season.
