Homes and Hounds Book Project Barking in Fredericksburg
City resident Jackie Acquista, with help of a Kickstarter campaign, aims to showcase historic homes and their canine residents.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Fredericksburg resident Jackie Acquista has quite the affinity for historic homes in the city's downtown area. She also has developed an interest in the dogs who live in them.
Thus she started a project, Homes + Hounds, a book that aims to have stories and pictures about each "home and hound" property.
Acquista has raised more than $1,000 through a Kickstarter campaign to help raise money for the project.

She says in her pitch that "articles of interest include; popular doggie meet and greet locations, favorite rooms in the house and yard, neighborhood hangouts, and the occasional true urban “myth” that makes the dog a local celebrity."
She adds that preservation buffs should appreciate home details such as the date the dwelling was constructed, the architecture style, previous families who lived there, building reconstruction and parts of original structure that remain standing.
