Homicidal Shouts Alert Stafford Deputy To Trouble At Hospital: Report
Homicidal shouting prompted a Stafford County Sheriff's deputy to investigate a disturbance at Mary Washington Hospital Wednesday night.

FREDERICKSBURG, VA — Philip Erikson, a 23-year-old Stafford man, is facing multiple assault charges following an incident that occurred Wednesday night at Mary Washington Hospital.
A Stafford County Sheriff's deputy was at the hospital located at 1001 Perry Bvd. around 8:55 p.m. when he heard a man screaming homicidal statements, according to authorities. The deputy went to see what was happening when he saw Erikson throw a tray toward a nurse.
The deputy tried to detain Erikson, but he resisted and assaulted the deputy, police say. A scuffle occurred, but the deputy was eventually able to stop Erikson.

With the help of a SCSO sergeant and a Fredericksburg Police officer, the deputy walked Erickson to a patrol vehicle. During the walk to the car, Erickson assaulted the sergeant, according to a report.
Erikson was arrested and charged with two counts of assault and battery on law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and assault and battery, as well as destruction of property. Erikson was taken to the Rappahannock Regional Jail, where he was held without bond.

Neither the sergeant nor the deputy were injured during Erickson's arrest.
